Fencing is an individual, competitive and combative sport. Fast decision making and creating strategies to beat your opponent is key, while balance, reflex, fitness, and coordination all play a major part.
Some say that the mindset of a fencer is akin to that of a chess player, in that you need to have a good strategy and repertoire of tools in order create a situation where you can be one step ahead of your opponent.
I believe that learning anything new should be fun and interesting, so I plan my lessons carefully to ensure everybody gets involved equally whilst enjoying themselves in a safe and fun environment.
My love for fencing began at the age of nine, where I was selected by one of the most successful fencing clubs in Hungary (MTK) who have trained many Olympic champions. It was an honour for me to be associated with the club. I then went on to become five- time Hungarian champion.
My career started in Knightsbridge Fencing Club in 2012, where I became the Head Coach. Several students of ours have had great achievements and gone on to become English and British champions which has seen them advance to international level competitions.
I've also spent 8 years coaching in Central London Fencing Club, where many of our fencers had great results in national and international competitions.
During this time, I taught in many private schools throughout London, such as Knightsbridge School, Ravenscourt Park prep school, and Hill House school but to name a few.
I know how important physical activities are for all ages and fencing provides good discipline which is needed to be able to live a full and healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically.
